Golden Hills Real Estate Market

Homes in the Golden Hills area are mostly single-family units and are built on 25x100 foot lots. Single family units run from 400K-1.2M. You will find a few sprinkles of two-and-three-on-a-lot townhomes in this area, but generally, most homes are affectionately referred to as “tall and skinnies.” The Golden Hills in North Redondo is very reminiscent of a quaint San Francisco street.

The neighborhood was built with the idea of keeping living costs down and affordable to many families. Many of the homes in Golden Hills offer great square footage for much less than in neighboring Hermosa and Manhattan.
 
Generally, these homes have what is called a “reverse floor plan.” This means that the first floor will contain two bedrooms, a great room, and a dining room. A master bedroom is located upstairs on the second floor. Vaulted cathedral ceilings are also very common. The great room typically has a fireplace. Some Golden Hills homes feature fireplaces in the master bedroom.   
 
Because the Golden Hills have, well, hills, each home is different. Some have a lower level bonus room that may lead out to a backyard. Some have rooftop decks. Some homes have a loft built on a third level above the great room.  As for the floor plan, we have certainly seen more traditional floor plans. Each home is wonderfully unique to its specific location.

And while this neighborhood has no ocean views, it lies within a great school district, including the highly regarded Jefferson Elementary. The area provides excellent freeway access and is close to everything. The Artesia corridor has become a mecca for great little restaurants and bars; some have even been calling it "Restaurant Row." Golden Hills is certainly a prime location, especially for those raising a family. Some of the other schools in The Golden Hills include Birney Elementary, Adams and Parras Middle Schools, and Redondo Union High School.
