With a community meeting held to decide whether a new surf club is necessary, the community has decided it is. The new surf club will target local youth and help them get ready to compete. Redondo Beach needs a surf club of this type and it seems as though the community agrees.
No surf club for the youth really exists in the area and the meeting, sponsored by the Perfect Day Surf Camp was designed to help share ideas on how to make this a reality. Kids ages seven to 17 need a place to learn how to compete with surfing and this new club will help.
Other Area Surf Clubs
This won't be the first surf club, but it will be the first of its' kind. Other surf clubs in the Redondo Beach area include:
- South Bay Surf Club - A recreational club perfect for all skill levels, this club meets at RAT Beach from 7:30am to 9:30am regularly. Sometimes they hold meetings just for beginners and they have over 150 members.
- Native Skin - Another great choice for intermediate and advanced beginners, Native Skin provides a place for surfers to share tips and waves.
- 310 Surf Group - A Club geared towards beginners staying on the inside and in the mush.
- Dive N' Surf Die Team - This is more than just a surf club with many scuba divers participating, as well.
These are just a few of the area surf clubs and many others are found throughout Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. However, none of the clubs are specifically designed to help youth get ready for competition.
As experts talk about creating room for the new surf club, more news will be available. Look for the new surf club to come to the Redondo Beach area soon!
